DUE DILIGENCE IN TWO FLAVOURS

When dealing with China, as with any distant land, it is paramount that you perform the necessary due diligence to protect your capital investment.

This is true with all products and purchases, but even more so when trying to procure electronic goods or computer related products; due to the huge amount of fraudulent companies on the internet.

I particularly don't want you to get the impression that all Chinese businesses are unscrupulous, as that simply isn't true.

However, in the course of background checking I have often discovered several hundred, to more than a thousand, and in some cases three thousand, websites registered to the same individual; or group, thereof.

Many, or all of these websites consistently dupe people out of millions of dollars.

Thus, we warn you to take serious note of the concept of due diligence, and not allow yourself to feel to cosy in this, apparently, tight-knit world of internet business.

Don't Get Burnt!

Don't Get Burnt!

We can offer you two choices of due diligence

Choice Number 1

The first, being comprehensive, and involving telephone, email, and finally face-to-face visits from us, personally; to ensure the voracity of your prospective supplier's claims.

For example, we would gather the following data on your behalf:

1. Company name

2. Company Registered Address

3. Year of Establishment

4. Business License Number

5. Accreditation or Affiliation

6. Office or Plant Area Space

7. Annual Turnover

9. Major Customers

10. Foreign Client References

11. Product Range & Categories

12. Available Processes

13. Available Production Equipment & Current Status

14. Quality Testing Equipment/Staff & Current Status

15. Quality Testing System & Certification

16. Staff Breakdown & Company Organization Chart

17. List of Senior Directors & Management Team

19. Copies of Business License & Registration.

20. Confirm the validity of Business License & Registration with the Chinese Ministry of Commerce in re your prospective supplier's Business Registration Claims and documents.

in addition to the above, we would carry out a face-to-face visit, factory check, and pictures; all of which, would be presented to you in a PDF report.

Choice Number 2

Our New Low-Cost Pre-Purchase Background Check

This is a product we designed specifically for smaller businesses or sole-traders, planning on buying goods from China.

We designed it  in response to the number of requests for a low-cost service, which would go a long way towards mitigating the risk of financial losss in transactions with China.

The cost of this service is currently very affordable, at only $100 USD.

However, it certainly does go a long way, in terms of protecting your investment.

We have saved individual companies literally hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of potential loss, through the use of this product.

The substance of the product, is that we use our experienced eyes, and Chinese business and researching skills and experience, to provide you with a report on the company you propose to buy from. This report will place you in a much better position, in terms of actual risk assessment.

THIS IS NOT FULL DUE DILIGENCE!

THIS ISN’T, AND CAN’T BE A 100% GUARANTEE AGAINST BEING DEFRAUDED!

BUT CAN AND WILL BE OUR EXPERIENCED RESEARCHED OPINION; AND WHICH WILL HAVE A POSITIVE EFFECT ON THE CHANCES OF YOUR DEAL GOING OFF IN YOUR FAVOUR - AS OPPOSED TO IT SIMPLY GOING OFF IN YOUR FACE.

Here’s a brief outline:

  1. We'll perform an internet background check, in both Chinese and English, on your proposed supplier, based upon the details you send us, to determine whether we can discover anything about them and their reputation, as well as certain other factors, which enable us to understand whether we’re dealing with a potentially fraudulent company. For example, from the phone number alone, we can determine the likelihood of them being fraudulent, as there is a particular prepaid phone card, which appears, to the inexperienced and ignorant eye, to be the same as a land-line number, but is actually just a cheap mobile phone number.

  2. We will ask you, to ask the Chinese company “representative” to send YOU their full Chinese name, Chinese address, and their Chinese ID Card number; as we can run a check on the ID Card number for you, using official government services here in China.

  3. You MUST also ask for copies of their Business Licence Registration Documents; which will be in Chinese, of course, and which you’ll then forward to us, and we will check them to see if they appear genuine or not. If you want us to properly check with their local business registration office by phone or internet, that may be possible, but will be slightly more time-consuming, and will raise our eventual costs; but not by too much that it will become prohibitive to you. However, our aim here is to outline this simple and low-cost service offer.

  4. You MUST also ask for a photograph of the company gates, building, lobby, and/or hall; ANYWHERE that they have their company name on the building in large letters, which we can read to determine whether the company name on the “factory” is the same as that on their “Business Licence Registration Documents. Just tell them you were once cheated, and you’re just trying to make yourself safe. If they’re genuine, then they won’t mind doing what you ask.

  5. We will make a direct call to the company, after you’ve emailed them and told them you have a representative in Beijing, and ask them to verify all of the above data, inclusive of various other questions, which will enable us to determine whether they’re genuine or not. An added benefit of this, of course, is that they will now be in the belief that you have a representative in China, and will be less inclined to cheat you., should they have been previously so inclined.

  6. After completing the above we shall send you a comprehensive PDF containing our findings, and conclusions.

Is it worth it to you?

We'll leave you to determine whether an investment of $100 USD, in order to safeguard the loss of thousands, or tens of thousands of dollars makes logical, commercial and economic sense.

NB: We are not willing to do this for people seeking grey or parallel imports, such as Xbox, iPhones, etc., as we do not condone the practice.

"In short, your interests are our interests;

and that simple understanding makes good business sense and practice for us."
